Transportation Update: Smoother Travel on U.S. 40!

Big news for our local and visiting drivers—The Colorado Department of Transportation has officially completed the passing lanes project on U.S. 40 between Kremmling and Steamboat Springs!

According to a recent article from Sky-Hi News, this long-anticipated improvement was wrapped up on May 8, after crews returned in late April to finish final touches like seeding and erosion control. The project, which began in May 2024, focused on widening and paving a key stretch of highway just north of Wolford Mountain Reservoir.

What does this mean for us? 🚗

Improved safety and smoother travel! Whether you're commuting, heading to Steamboat for a weekend getaway, or transporting goods through the region, the new passing lanes will make it easier for faster-moving vehicles to pass safely—reducing bottlenecks and improving the overall flow of traffic.

As a local realtor, I know how important accessible transportation is for both quality of life and property values. Updates like this are great indicators of ongoing investment in our mountain communities. If you're thinking about buying or selling in the area, now’s a great time to take advantage of the positive momentum.
